The guidance office offers help to students in many situations. They all want the best for their students, helping students expand their knowledge to go even further. They all sit in the guidance office making schedules, fixing them, getting scholarship information, and working on a variety of problems that students have.
Each member of the guidance department has an interesting life and a pesonality that makes them easy to talk to. What follows here is a brief introduction to these very friendly people.
Mrs. Maureen Simpson in high school was involved in gymnastics, hanging out with friends and shopping. Her hobbies now are playing with her puppy, running, learning how to cook and still goes shopping.
She got started off doing guidance in college as an elementary school major, and found that she loves to help students with their problems. She has been here for four years and likes doing guidance because every day is different and exciting. “It makes me feel good when students come to me, so I can make their day better,” she said.
Mr. Paul Muller’s hobbies in high school were sports. He played football, basketball, and baseball. His hobbies now are running half marathons and spending time with his family. He has been a guidance counselor for seventeen years, and became a guidance counselor because he had great role models when he grew up.
“I’m glad to be an important role model in their life to help make good decisions,” he said. “Because my favorite part of his job is to help a smart kid is the first one in their family to go to college.”
Mrs. Louise Grime’s hobbies in high school were reading, cheerleading, class activities, music, and honor society. Her hobbies now are reading, attending church, and teaching children in China every summer. She has been teaching for fifteen years, and she wanted to work more with the students and became a guidance counselor.
“I desire to help the students on what ever their need is we provide different services here at our office.”
Mrs. Chris Langis is the secretary of the guidance office. She enjoys reading, watching sports, cooking, she likes experimenting cooking. She has been the guidance secretary for 10 years and enjoys working at the school. She has two children, one who is a marine and another who is in college.
She loves to help the students here, she says. “I try my best to point the students in the right direction for whatever their need is.”
