Staff Commitment

The Pointer staff seeks to serve the students, faculty, and community of Sparrows Point High School by providing current news, facts, opinions, and stories about the school, its activities, and its people.   The Pointer staff is committed to ensuring accuracy, fairness, balance and good taste in reporting news and features.  

Totally committed to objectivity and neutrality regarding student elections for Student Council officers and class officers, The Pointer will not endorse any candidates in student elections.  All candidates for student offices will be given equal and fair coverage. 

Guest Contributors

All current students of Sparrows Point High School who are not members of The Pointer staff may write and contribute personal essays, opinion articles, and letters to the editor; but the decision whether to edit and publish those submissions remains with the editor, staff and adviser of The Pointer.  Submissions must be typed and submitted electronically via email or as an attachment in MS Word to dtaylor@bcps.org.
